Francia y Croacia, que han eliminado a Bélgica y a Inglaterra, respectivamente, disputarán este domingo en el estadio Luzhniki de Moscú una final inédita en la Copa del Mundo.

Será la tercera ocasión que el conjunto galo juegue el partido por el título y la primera que llega a esta instancia la selección balcánica.

Francia se coronó campeona como local en 1998 al imponerse en la final a Brasil (3-0) en el estadio de Saint Denis y perdió ante Italia en la tanda de penales en la de Alemania 2006, tras acabar el encuentro con empate a uno.

Este domingo será una final nueva, la decimoctava distinta en la historia de la Copa del Mundo, ya que tan solo se han repetido Alemania-Argentina y Brasil-Italia.
